St. Louis American Indian Consortium (STAIC) - "St. Louis American Indian Consortium is a newly formed group dedicated to the preservation of the Native American Culture & Traditions. The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) is a Federal law passed in 1990. NAGPRA provides a process for museums and Federal agencies to return certain Native American cultural items -- human remains, funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony - to lineal descendants, culturally affiliated Indian tribes, and Native Hawaiian organizations.

The National Association of Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (NATHPO) - Organization of Tribal government officials who implement federal and tribal preservation laws. NATHPO's overarching purpose is to support the preservation, maintenance and revitalization of the cutlure and traditions of Native peoples of the United States.

The National Tribal Environmental Council (NTEC) is a comprehensive resource for American Indian & Alaska Native communities, state & federal agencies, and private and non-profit organizations interested in protecting tribal environments. NTEC's mission is to enhance each Tribe's ability to protect, preserve and promote the wise management of air, land and water for the benefit of present and future generations.

LEGAL ISSUES
